Edith Cavell Elementary PAC
Volunteer With Us!
The PAC is always looking for volunteers! In addition to Executive Members, Committee Chairs, and Coordinators, there are vital volunteers who lend a hand along the way. If you are interested in volunteering, we want to hear from you!
Our volunteer opportunities are a great way to get involved and support your school. Open Volunteer Positions feature key vacant roles but there are many ways to contribute. We are happy to answer questions and offer suggestions on how you can use your time and talents to support our school!
Open Positions
These positions are vital to the smooth functioning of the Edith Cavell PAC. If you are interested in, or have questions about, any position, please contact the PAC for details.
A full list of PAC Executive Members, Committee Chairs, and PAC contacts is included on the PAC Exec page.
Event Coordinators
Event Coordinators lead a range of school events, from large fundraisers like Carnival to Cavell’s annual Welcome Back Coffee, as well as social events and fundraising campaigns throughout the year. Volunteers can bring new ideas to life or take the lead on previously successful events, with support from the Fundraising and Social Committee Chairs.
If you are interested in leading an event or campaign, please contact our Fundraising Committee Chair.
Silent Auction Coordinator
Silent Auction Coordinator organizes the silent auction by collecting donations, coordinating item displays and online listings, tracking bids, and managing prize distribution. This role supports fundraising efforts and historically raises around $7,000 - $9,000.
To volunteer for this role or for additional information, please contact the Fundraising Committee Chair.
PAC Treasurer
School PAC Treasurer manages the PAC’s finances, including tracking income and expenses, preparing financial reports, supporting the annual budget, and helping ensure funds are used responsibly to support school programs and initiatives. This is an executive position to which applicants must be elected.
The PAC by-laws were adjusted at the 2026 AGM to allow our current PAC Treasurer to extend their term as a new Treasurer had not been found. They will be available through the 2026/27 school year to ensure a smooth transition.
DPAC Rep
DPAC Rep attends District PAC meetings, shares information and updates from the district with the Cavell PAC through a brief report presented at monthly PAC meetings.
The Cavell DPAC Rep is an Executive position and must be elected. Please contact the Cavell PAC Chair for information on nominations.
Carnival Coordinator
Carnival Coordinator leads the planning and coordination of the school carnival. This includes organizing activities, volunteers, vendors, rentals, and all the event details to create a fun and successful community event.
Carnival is Cavell’s largest event of the year and takes a significant time commitment. Files from previous years are available.
Class Parents
Class Parents act as a liaison between your child's Div and the PAC. Each class can have 2 Class Parents. They attend monthly PAC meetings, relay relevant information to parents, and coordinate teacher gifts.
Please use the URL below to sign up for vacant Class Parent roles. For additional information on what’s involved, contact the Class Parent Coordinator.
